How to Apply for Your Real Estate License on eAccessNY
Once you have completed the RELNY course and passed the Final Exam, the next steps are to schedule your state exam, pass the state exam, and then apply for your real estate license through the eAccessNY portal. You will also need a sponsoring broker to hold your license, where RELNY's Job Placement Solutions can provide significant value. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth application process.
Get Started on Your License Application
- Email realestate@dos.ny.gov for a temporary password.
- Include your full name as it appears on your New York State issued driver's (or non-driver's) license, your driver's (or non-driver's) license ID number, and the email address you wish to use as your User ID on eAccessNY.
- Once NYS responds to your email and your account is set up, log in using your User ID (email address) and the temporary password you were sent.
- Ensure you have added egateway@dos.ny.gov to your contact list or safe sender list to receive all necessary emails.
- Schedule the date for the State exam
- Pass the State exam
- If you schedule the exam without a sponsoring broker, you can provide a sponsoring broker when you apply for your license.
- If you schedule the NYS exam and already have a sponsoring broker, bring the details of the sponsoring broker with you to the exam to fast-track the application process.
- You do not have to have a sponsoring broker to schedule the NYS exam, however, you do need a sponsoring broker to apply for your real estate license.
- Navigate to the appropriate section within eAccessNY to start your application.
- Provide all required information, including proof of course completion and passing the final exam.
- Submit the necessary application fee via the eAccessNY portal.
- Review all provided information for accuracy.
- Submit your application for processing.
